Fujifilm
GFX 100s II

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to not only use my own cameras, but also other photographer’s cameras while second shooting. Add to that the combined hands-on experience with all the major brands through teaching…and, it adds up to a lot of cameras!

You could definitely say that the Fujifilm medium format system was love at first sight. Once I saw the incredible resolution and color rendering, there was no going back to anything less than the best image quality out there!

Favorite Film Simulation: ETERNA

One of the best parts of the entire Fujifilm system is the long history of their color science. They took years of creating film and put it into the amazing film simulations you can use right in the camera. They are not presets, they’re carefully crafted color profiles that will have you seeing color in a whole new way.

It is hard to pick a favorite…I have had fun trying them all for various projects. ETERNA (Cinema) is one I use again and again for that cinematic look. The lifted shadow details and soft rendering of filmy color often makes scenes look straight out of a movie—which is exactly the vibe I want!

Go to Lenses:
Fujinon GF110 + GF55

I’m a primes girl through and through, because I have found that not only is the image quality the best…prime lenses simply make me use my feet more. I found I create stronger compositions and think more when not relying on zoom. (Even though the GF45-100 definitely has changed how I feel about zooms).

In the GFX world, the Fujinon GF110 f/2 lens is my favorite, an absolute LEGEND in the community with good reason. The out of focus areas created with this lens are so soft and beautiful. (The image at left was created with the GF110).

The perfect pairing with it is the Fujinon GF55mm f/1.7. Its fast focus and wide aperture make it have a unique look with incredible depth. On location, it’s the most versatile prime and many of my favorite images have been created with it.
