We are bringing back our workshop from last year…join us as we host a workshop during WPPI 2025! This is a standalone event, and you can also attend, even if you’re not planning on the main conference (although we do recommend it!).

Dive into the world of cinematic and wedding portrait photography with our specially curated workshop at the iconic Nelson Ghost Town. This unique opportunity is designed for photographers passionate about elevating their skills and capturing images that tell stories.

This is a HANDS-ON workshop, where you can get portfolio worthy images! Don’t miss it!

Join us for an exciting evening of model photography in an indoor studio setting! Enjoy hands-on experience with multiple shooting bays dedicated to lighting techniques, posing guidance, headshot photography, fashion/concept and more.

This exclusive event is limited to just 20 participants, so be sure to sign up quickly. Your hosts for the evening are Julie Gayler, Matthew Sewell, and Jeremy Smith. You're welcome to bring your own lighting gear, but each shooting bay will be equipped with lighting-your camera and lens is all you need.

Recommended studio lenses would be 50mm, 85mm or 24-70mm lenses.

If you are new to Photography, or are looking for new ideas, you won't want to miss this local club event.

Experienced members of Metro Camera Club familiar with Nikon, Canon, Sony and Fuji and other equipment will be there to share their knowledge and answer any questions you may have with your new camera.

Club members will display still life set-ups demonstrating different lighting for small still-life photography with an emphasis on using macro lenses and various Portrait Lighting situations using backdrops and flash. Visitors are encouraged to bring their cameras...this will be a hands on experience!!!

The Workshop starts at 10:00 AM and continues until 2:00 PM.

There will be an entry fee, TBD.

Hands on Photography instruction will promptly start at 10:00 AM.

Bring your camera to the Workshop. Be sure your camera is able to hook up with the studio sync cords or wireless triggers as provided. Check with your local photo dealer or myself for help in this area.

Received a few messages about trying out the new FJ800 and FJ400ii, and thought it would be fun to have a play day in the sun!

I’ll give a quick demo and share settings with you and you can capture the magic on your own camera! Tim Payne will also be there to help with any OCF questions.

You don’t need any prior experience, all photography levels are welcome. Bring a camera and your curiosity and let’s have some fun in the sun!

STORYTELLING WITH CREATIVE LIGHT

• Finding inspiration and how to implement it

• Steps to develop concepts for creative portraits

• How to pitch creative ideas to clients
